Toothlessness
Restoring all the teeth in one of the jaw bones is possible
in two ways. One can opt for the denture or decide for the
implantation procedure. The denture does its task well in
many cases, but with time the jaw bone deteriorates. In effect,
the denture does not adjust properly and it starts to impede.
Today many patients will not decide for the denture most
of all for the psychological and social reasons. This group
grows bigger every day. They value more and more the feeling
of regaining their own teeth, which gives their lives a completely
new quality!
In our clinic we offer at least a few possibilities of dental
defects’supplementation in case of toothlessness with
the use of implants. Below we present some of them:
I. Removable prosthesis placed on several implants:
In case of a toothless upper or lower jaw it is exceptionally
important to keep complete denture in the right position.
Standard prosthetic solutions do not provide satisfactory
stabilization.
These difficulties can be overcome by the use of prosthetic supplementation which is placed on several implants. This type of a denture (so called overdenture) is joined with the implants by fasteners or bars. Implementing 2 to 4 implants enhances the comfort of the use of the denture significantly.
II. Fixed dentures placed on several implants:
The best stabilization of dentures can be obtained by fixing
them on implants permanently. It is usually 6 implants in
the lower- and 8 in the upper jaw.
Functionality
and the aesthetics of such dentures give the patient an almost
perfect feeling of regaining their own teeth. No other prosthetic
solution meets both criteria in such high a degree.
We offer as well:
Zygoma Branemark –a solution implemented
in case of bone defficiency in the side part of the upper
jaw.
Branemark Novum (a bridge supported on 3 implants) –used
in case of a toothless lower jaw.
... and many other possibilities of dental supplementation
with implants.
